Mid-Winter BBQ Breakfast

Since the weather was so beautiful this weekend, a group of us decided to wake up early on Sunday morning and head to Michael Joseph Savage Reserve (a park out near Mission Bay) for a nice BBQ breakfast. This is a beautiful little park overlooking the city and the ocean and was a perfect way to relax and enjoy the weather. The winter here has been pretty rainy but it was sunny and around 60 degrees today (not bad for the middle of winter).

I brought my portable BBQ which has proven to be the perfect thing to bring to NZ. We cooked eggs, bacon, sausage, tomatoe, french toast, and had coffee and orange juice while relaxing in the camping chairs and enjoying the beautiful day and good company. I think we were out there for a good 3.5-4 hours and it was a great way to spend a Sunday morning.

  1. It looks like Paul took full advantage of the bacon provided . . . a possible future member of the board at "Add Bacon"?? I think so.

Looks like an amazing time-- we want in next go around.

  2. Nate,
Are you sure you will be able to part with your portable barbeque for 4 weeks when we come visit? You will probably waste away to nothing.

  3. Nate,
I just read the article in today's (8/15) NZ paper about the man barbequeing his pet dog and now I am suspicious about those strange looking items in the picture, are they sausages, or are they.....????? All perfectly legal, of course.
